Beauty Is Only Skin Deep

One thing I have appreciated over the years about LIFE Leadership is the culture of acceptance and encouragement while pushing individuals to reach their created potential.  Michelle and I had a unique experience the other night I wanted to share with you.

Do not let your adorning be external – the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear – but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.  1 Peter 3:3-4

Her name is Lily and I met her for the first time while sitting in the bleachers at a high school talent contest.  As the emcee introduced her to the stage, I couldn’t help but recognize the unusual explosion of applause from the student body.  What was so special about Lily?  She didn’t look any different from the other girls.  She sang “The Call” by Regina Spektor and mesmerized us with her beautiful voice.  I could tell the song had meaning to her as she sang from her heart.  Interestingly, when she finished, almost her entire class erupted with a standing ovation!  When the contest was over, Lily won the talent show competition by a landslide against other amazing performances.

I learned later that Lily transferred from another high school for “social” reasons.  Probably bullying or insensitive comments or…you know, the typical immature behaviors that come from boys and girls going through pubescent hormone changes and awful social programming from current influences like gaming, Internet, TV, etc..

What brought a tear to my eye was the massive encouragement that came from the student body.  It reminded me of the power of being around a group of encouraging and uplifting people.  Lily is wonderfully and beautifully made as a creation from God.  On that stage, Lily and her vocal talent was lifted to the heavens by her peers and friends.  It was a memory I’m sure she’ll cherish forever and one that I hope not to soon forget.

Ninety percent of the world’s woe comes from people not knowing themselves, their abilities, their frailties, and even their real virtues.  Most of us go almost all the way through life as complete strangers to ourselves – so how can we know anyone else?-   Sidney J. Harris – from Confidence of a Champion by Tim Marks

It made me ponder why there is so much depression and social isolation today, not just among adolescents but adults as well.  Could it be partly because of the lack of this type of empowering environment?  Could it be partly because of the current technology that can create altered senses of reality?  Gaming has created worlds of make-believe where players can re-create their body and personality.  We can “Photoshop” pictures and watch “reality” programs that aren’t even close to being real.  Our real beauty lies somewhere beneath all of this superficial stuff.

Watch this video!

How can anyone compete with that?!

What I love about LIFE leadership is we are forming adult communities all over the world that continue to provide the kind of encouragement that I witnessed last night with Lily.  Just like those highschoolers, we are learning how to accept and love people unconditionally, ignore social labels, and empower and celebrate people as they develop the gifts that the Creator has given them.  It is a new “third space” concept, a community where the “successful” and “unsuccessful” come together on equal terms.  It is a place where nobodies can become some bodies, not because of how they look, act, or sing, but because a group of people reminds them of how God uniquely created them to love, live, learn and lead.

It’s time for a true transformation in your life.   Join LIFE Leadership!  Think of it as the best dermabrasion to discover and reveal the real you!

God speed on your journey!

Obesity and the 8F’s of LIFE

Recently a friend of mine forwarded a news story that was aired on CBS national news.  Look at the image below and what do you notice about his office? Click on the image below to watch the 2 minute news clip of Congressman Billy Long.

cbs report with LIFE book

What a great message about battling adversity.  Watch it again and look at what books are displayed in his book cabinet.  Did you see the LIFE book prominently displayed!?! LIFE by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward

This post is not making any assumptions that Congressman Billy Long is involved with or endorses the LIFE community, or that the LIFE information has played any role in his current life victories.

However, this post is about life changes and how getting the right, principle-based information and associating with the right people can help us achieve and maintain life changes.  The LIFE self-directed education is designed to do just that.

Fitness is one of the 8F’s that the founders of LIFE have included in this self-directed education.  In regards to fitness, obesity has become a world health crisis.  In December 2012 the results of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study 2010 were published in the British Medical Journal LANCET.  One of the findings showed that obesity has become a bigger world health crisis than hunger.  CNN Health recently reported:

The report [GBD] revealed that every country, with the exception of those in sub-Saharan Africa, faces alarming obesity rates — an increase of 82% globally in the past two decades. Middle Eastern countries are more obese than ever, seeing a 100% increase since 1990.

I believe most people understand the health concerns related to poor diet, lack of exercise, and eating too much.  Yet, with all the awareness, why is the world heading into an obesity epidemic?  Researchers from around the world are looking into the health crisis trying to find the causes and identify some solutions.

Not to oversimplify the problem, I believe the answer lies within the individual.  In America marketing companies have multi-million dollar campaigns to  program us on how and what to eat.  Food is cheap, conveniently accessible and, in some cases nutritious.   Also, we are programmed to live very busy lifestyles with Moms and Dads working outside the homes, always on the run, and not able to prepare meals for the family and oversee what our children are eating.

What if the LIFE self-directed education provided the right information to help individuals and families turn that scenario around?  What if the LIFE income opportunity provided the means for Moms and Dads to become job-optional and stay home, lead their families, and still have the money coming in to support a healthier lifestyle?  Would you join the cause?

I certainly did.  And so have tens-of-thousands of individuals across North America.  Men and women from every age group and ethnic background are uniting to spread the concept of “compensated communities” to the rest of the world.

Congressman Long’s story ties in so well with what Orrin Woodward and the LIFE business represent: real people setting goals, fighting real problems, struggling through the obstacles, overcoming and maintaining those life changes so they can achieve success over a lifetime.

2013 will be an amazing year for many people, in particular for members and friends that are a part of the LIFE community.  At the end of January, there will be LIFE leadership conventions across North America that I encourage you to plug into.  I am proud to represent a business that gives the average person a chance to become a winner and reach higher levels of success than ever before. Matt Mielke

“LIFE – The New Economic Paradigm”

This last weekend on a LIFE leadership stage, Renee Oettinger and Mark and Jen Paul spoke in Milwaukee, WI in front of around 1000 people.  The convention room was humming with excitement because of what is happening with the LIFE leadership model of compensated communities. Where else can you grow and learn from the top minds in leadership and life experience, have a blast celebrating personal and professional victories, and get paid to introduce your friends to this great community?

One of my favorite talks came from Mark Paul as he described different historical scenarios when something was discovered rather accidentally, but then through intentional and persistent activity turned out to alter the course of business history.  Examples included the invention of super glue, play dough, and the new billion dollar company “Spanx.”

Mark referenced the research of author Malcolm Gladwell in his excellent book Outliers, as Gladwell looked at the top 75 wealthiest people in all human history.  To paraphrase Gladwell, nineteen of the 75, almost 20 percent, came from one country, the United States of America, during the time period from 1860′s to 1870′s. At that time America was experiencing the birth of the industrial manufacturing age.  Rail roads were being built, Wall Street (I know that’s a swear word right now) emerged and the American economy was undergoing a massive transition.  As Gladwell states in his book, “The rules by which the traditional economy had functioned were broken and remade.”

Birth of a New Age

Economies broken and remade, the birth of a new age, accidental discoveries that led to history in the making – THAT’S IT!!!  LIFE leadership is the new economic paradigm!

Our economy is smack dab in the middle of a rebirth.  The internet has changed everything.  I recommend you get a hold of a CD titled Economics 101 by Larry VanBuskirk where Larry describes in excellent detail what is going on in today’s economy.

In his book The Next Millionaires, best-selling author Paul Zane Pilzer describes how we have transitioned from the Industrial Age to the Information Age and how, as a result of that transition, the greatest transfer of wealth in all of human history is going to take place.  The question is, will we be a part of it or just watch it happen to someone else?

LIFE leadership; the New Economic Paradigm- Compensated Communities

I volunteer to be on the receiving end through the LIFE leadership vehicle.  Why?  Because it is the only vehicle that allows any individual, based on their performance, to go as far as they want.  No special deals, a systematized program of personal and leadership development, unlimited income potential all wrapped in principle-based, foundational teachings of responsibility, purpose, integrity, good character and service to others.

LIFE, drawing on the expertise of the founders with over 100  combined years of experience in building compensated communities, has intersected four massive  industries: leadership development, life coaching, social networking, and home based business – all of which have a combined revenue potential over 500 Billion dollars.

Sturgeon’s Law: 90% of Everything is Junk!

Theodore Sturgeon, in 1958, described a revelation that, “90% of film, literature, consumer goods, etc. are crap.”  Today it is known as Sturgeon’s Law and it still holds true today – just look at You Tube, American Idol and many other areas of consumerism.

If Sturgeon’s Law still holds true, than 90 percent of the four industries LIFE intersects is junk.  Ninety percent of 500 billion dollars is……. a lot of money, 450 billion to be exact!

When LIFE launched last November, the business had ground floor credibility with Orrin Woodward receiving the 2011 IAB Top Leadership Award and holding the #7 top leadership guru spot, while Chris Brady held the #12 spot.  The-team.biz is recognized as the top builder of compensated communities and the list goes on and on.

If Sturgeon’s Law is true, and the LIFE leadership and business paradigm are already recognized as the top in the industry, do you think we can capture at least 1% of the $450 billion that’s crud!?!

LIFE is a Personal and Professional “Game Changer”

Let me try to wrap this together.  Mark Paul’s talk was profound.  We are literally at the dawn of a new era – some see it as hopeles, we see it as mega-opportunity.  By changing the sources of information coming into our minds, will literally change the course of our futures.  There is nothing rocket science about personal achievement, but it will take hard work!  The bad news is most won’t do the hard work, however, those that choose to be proactive, persistent and intentional will reap a LIFE harvest that will blow your mind.  Choose LIFE as your economic paradigm.  Godspeed.
